Abstract
By the Decree No. 2016/9252 of the Council of Ministers of 19 September 2016, the Agreement between the Republic of Turkey and Romania on cooperation in the field of water has been approved. The Parties agree upon cooperation on development and management of water resources, management of flood and drought, efficient use of water, improvement of water quality and quantity, groundwater resources, drinking water supply, treatment and recycling of wastewater, marine and coastal zone management, dams, fishery in freshwater resources, construction of fish passages in rivers, upper-basin erosion control, river basin management plans and improvement of freshwater quality. The Parties shall develop cooperation by exchange of information and experience, as well as by developing joint projects. The Parties may organize training programs, meetings, conferences and symposiums. A Joint Committee shall be established. This Agreement may be supplemented and amended by the mutual written consent of the Parties. The dispute may be solved through negotiations between the Parties. The Agreement is valid for an indefinite period and remains in force until being terminated within three months by one of the Party.
