Abstract
The objective of this circular, which includes 20 articles in five sections, is to define the prohibitions, restrictions and obligations for the fishing season covering April 1st, 1999 to August 31st, 2000, in accordance to the Fisheries Law, No. 1380, and Article 6 of corresponding Fisheries Regulation, for a better benefiting from sea and inland water resources on sports activities; preserve fishery products and their environment; prevent water pollution; and enable amatorial fishing under certain conditions. The Regulation imposes provisions on certificates that would be necessary for Turkish citizens and for foreigners. Travel agencies which would organize fishery tours should obtain "Special Fishing Permits" from the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs or from the local organizations of the Ministry of Forestry, depending to the location. This Regulation defines: fishing gear and equipment; prohibited species, seasons and quantity. The Regulation also contains penal provisions for violating the related laws and regulations. The Regulation lists in detail not allowable fish species, including seasons, size and quantity for each species. Prohibited and restricted locations are listed.
