Abstract
This Agreement sets out a framework for cooperation in the field of water between Turkey and Djibouti. The parties agree to cooperate in issues such as: water quality, monitoring and treatment technologies, design and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants, sustainable water management, coastal waters, coastal zone management, agricultural irrigation management, aridity management, flood management, inland aquaculture, adaptation of climate change and effects on water resources and survey, planning and implementation of the storage of rain and flood waters. Furthermore, the parties agree to cooperate in the field of drinking and tap water supply. It is also stated in the Agreement that, the contracting parties will agree to exchange scientific and technical information and documents, researchers, experts and consultants. The contracting parties will also agree to set up training programs, meetings and seminars. A Joint Committee shall be established by the contracting parties. The disputes may be solved by conciliation. This Agreement may be amended by mutual written consent. The agreement is valid for five years and is automatically renewable with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
