Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Republic of Zambia in the field of forestry.

By the Presidential Decree No. 462 of 11th of December 2018, the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Republic of Zambia in the field of forestry has been approved. For the protection of natural resources, combating desertification and drought, erosion control, conservation and rehabilitation of forests, the Parties agree upon cooperation on (I) advanced forest fire management, (II) geographical information systems in forestry, (III) management of non-timber forest products and services, (IV) forest growing stock and sustainable harvesting, (V) effective forest management planning including forest roads and infrastructures, (VI) afforestation and rehabilitation of arid lands, (VII) developing forest management structures, the zoning of forest areas, forest boundary maintenance, seed collection, seedling production and natural regeneration. The Parties shall develop cooperation by exchange of information, know-how and documents on research, development and implementation activities, as well as by exchange of experts, researchers, consultants and personnel. The Parties may organize training programs, meetings, joint workshops, seminars, and study tours. A Joint Committee shall be established to ensure the efficient implementation of cooperation activities under this Agreement. This Agreement may be amended by mutual written consent. The dispute may be solved through negotiation. This Agreement shall be valid for one year and may be extended for successive period of one year unless terminated by written notice requiring six months.
