Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Republic of Serbia in the field of forestry.

By the Decree No. 2018/11487 of the Council of Ministers of 5 March 2018, the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Republic of Serbia in the field of forestry has been approved. The Parties agree upon cooperation on (i) establishment of information systems for forest fires, GIS and Remote Sensing, (ii) pest management, (iii) non-timber products, (iv) ecosystem preservation, (v) nursery and seedling production techniques, (vi) monitoring of and research on forests, (vii) soil conservation and rehabilitation, and soil erosion control, (viii) control of avalanche, flood and torrent, (ix) integrated watershed management, (x) afforestation and forest management, (xi) wildlife protection, (xii) biodiversity conservation, (xiii) management of protected areas and ecotourism activities in protected areas, (xiv) wetland management, and (xv) combating desertification. The Parties shall develop cooperation by exchange of scientific and technical information, researchers, consultants and experts, and by conducting joint projects. The Parties may organize workshops, meetings, seminars, training programs and study visits. A Joint Committee shall be established to ensure efficient implementation of cooperation under this Agreement. This Agreement may be amended by mutual written consent. The dispute may be solved through negotiation. This Agreement shall be valid for one year and may be extended for successive period of one year unless terminated by written notice requiring six months.
