Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia on Cooperation in the Field of Forestry.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is intended to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation for the conservation and development of forest resources, combating deforestation and forest fires, erosion control, and rehabilitation of existing forests. This MoU further seeks to enhance collaboration between the Parties in the fields of forest and forest land rehabilitation; integrated watershed management; production of forest tree seedlings; combating forest fires, desertification, drought and land degradation; promoting sustainable management of forest; promoting sustainable trade of legal timber products; conserving and rehabilitating of wildlife habitats; utilization of non-wood forest products and services; combating forest diseases and pests; implementation and use of information systems including GeographicaI Information System (GlS) and Remote Sensing( RS) in forestry for monitoring, reporting and verification; promoting forest genetic laboratory; promoting responsible investment in forest plantation and forest product processing and value chains; and climate change mitigation and adaptation. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. The disputes may be solved through negotiation and consultations. This MoU shall be valid for five years and may be extended for successive period of five years unless terminated by written notice requiring 6 months through diplomatic channels.
