Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Cooperation in the field of Forestry.

This Memorandum of Understanding sets out a framework for cooperation in the field of forestry between Turkey and Azerbaijan. The parties agree to cooperate in issues such as: sustainable and rational forest management, management of biodiversity and natural resources, watershed protection management in forestry areas, watershed rehabilitation techniques, seed and seedling production techniques, forest inventory with Geographical Information System Technologies, protection of forests, combating forest fires and combating pests and diseases. It is also stated in the agreement that, the contracting parties will agree to exchange scientific and technical information and documents, researchers, experts and forest technologies. The contracting parties will also agree to set up training programs, meeting and conferences. The disputes may be solved by conciliation. A Joint Committee shall be established by the contracting parties. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. The agreement is valid for five years and is automatically renewable with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
