Abstract
By the Decree No. 2016/9482 of the Council of Ministers of 31 October 2016, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Turkey and the Federal Republic of Somalia on cooperation in the field of animal health has been approved. The Parties agree upon certification and inspection in compliance with animal health and quarantine legislations, in order to prevent the occurrence and spread of epizootic diseases during import, export or transit of live animals, animal products, animal reproduction products, animal feed, as well as other goods, products, means of transport, packaging materials and containers that might be under the risk of pathogen. The Parties shall develop the cooperation by exchange of experience and information and by developing strategies to fight against animal diseases. The Parties may organize reciprocal visits of experts in animal health, animal welfare, animal registration and identification systems, laboratory techniques and vaccination. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. The dispute may be resolved through consultation. This MoU shall be valid for five years and is automatically renewable with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
