Abstract
By the Presidential Decree No. 6397 of 10 November 2022, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Türkiye and the State of Kuwait on cooperation in the field of environment has been approved. The Parties shall cooperate through sharing of knowledge, experience, best practices and technology on the basis of equity, benefit and reciprocity, in order to reduce pollution and ensure environmental sustainability with a balanced approach on the conservation and use of the ecosystem. The Parties agree upon cooperation in the fields of: (I) environmental management, including integrated waste management, protection of marine and coastal environment from pollution, air quality management, environmental noise management, climate change (adaptation, mitigation, reporting, emission trading), green economy, chemicals management, prevention of spillage of hazardous substances and mitigation of their effects, recycling technologies for waste water, and integrated pollution prevention and control, (II) environmental compliance chain through EIA, environmental permit and licensing procedures, and environmental audit and monitoring, (III) biodiversity conservation in protected areas, (IV) environmental information systems, and (V) capacity building through environmental education and raising public awareness, and increasing the capacity of environmental institutions.
The Parties shall develop cooperation by organizing scientific and technical visiting programmes, and exchange of information, know-how, and documents on research, development and implementation activities. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. A Joint Committee will be established. The dispute may be solved through negotiation. This Agreement shall be valid for one year and may be extended or renewed for successive periods of one year with termination rights requiring six months written notice.

Entry into force notes
This MoU shall enter into force on the date of the receipt of last written notifıcation by which the Parties notify each other, through diplomatic channels, of the completion of their internal legal procedures required for the entry into force of the concerned document.
