Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Türkiye and the State of Palestine on cooperation in the field of water.

By the Presidential Decree No. 6389 of 10 November 2022, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Türkiye and the State of Palestine on cooperation in the field of water has been approved. The Parties agree upon: (I) sharing experiences and best practices on water distribution systems, including transmission lines, drinking water pumping networks, water reservoirs and online control; (II) exchange of information on the design, construction, operation and maintenance of water infrastructures such as dams, reservoirs, water supply and sewage systems, water treatment works and water treatment plants; (III) sharing experiences and best practices on advanced online water-related monitoring and water quality systems; and (IV) sharing experience and knowledge in the areas of corporate organization chart and management of the water sector and public-private sector participation in the water sector. The Parties shall develop cooperation by organizing joint scientifıc and technical workshops, conferences, training programmes, seminars and courses on identified themes, and exchange of information, know-how, and documentation. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. A Turkish-Palestinian Joint Coordination Committee will be established. The dispute may be solved through negotiation. This Agreement shall be valid for three years and may be extended or renewed for successive periods of three years with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
