Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates on agricultural cooperation.

By the Presidential Decree No. 6392 of 10 November 2022, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates on agricultural cooperation has been approved. The Parties agree upon cooperation in the areas of: (I) agricultural pest control and plant protection; (II) organic agriculture; (III) technology-based agricultural production; (IV) food safety, food production and trade relations in food products; (V) livestock, animal health and trade relations in livestock consignments; (VI) agricultural research and the use of modern technology and techniques to contribute to food security; (VII) promotion of joint ventures in the field of agriculture between the private sectors of each country; and (VIII) development of Agricultural Based Specialized Organized Industrial Zones projects. The Parties shall develop cooperation by exchange of experiences, information, visits, experts, research results, studies and trainings and by organizing seminars, symposia, exhibitions and conferences. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. A Joint Steering Committee in the field of agriculture will be established. The dispute may be solved through consultation or negotiation. This MoU shall be valid for one year and may be extended or renewed for successive periods of one year with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
