Abstract
This Memorandum of Understanding aims to set a general framework for joint technical and technological cooperation between the two countries in food security issues and to establish a mechanism to pursue efforts and cooperation in these areas of common interest. The Contracting Parties agreed seek to cooperate on: (I) the development of internal food supply chains and value chains, (II) development of the production of strategic commodities related to food security, (III) exchange of experiences and expertise regarding the development of food security strategies and policies and best practices in terms of food security, (IV) modern technologies and innovative solutions related to food security, (V) reduction of food waste and agricultural losses, (VI) research, guidance, and capacity building to achieve food security, (VII) exchange of experiences, visits, and information between the two countries, as well as holding joint training courses for workers in the field of food security, (VIII) exchange of experiences gained between specialized technicians in both countries to review the experiences, works and food security projects that have been implemented in each country, with reference to the modern and advanced technologies that have been introduced and applied, and (IX) any other areas of cooperation to be agreed upon in the future. A Joint Committee shall be established, consisting of representatives from both parties. The Parties shall ensure effective protection of the rights for intellectual property transferred or created under this memorandum in accordance with their respective national legislation and international treaties to which they are Parties. Any dispute that may arise between the two parties regarding the implementation of any of the articles of this memorandum shall be settled amicably through diplomatic channels. The Parties may make amendments to this MoU by mutual written consent of both parties. This MoU shall be valid for five years and may be extended for successive period of two years unless terminated by written notice requiring thirty days through diplomatic channels.
