Multi Species Action Plan for Crop Wild Relatives 2021-2030.

Multi Species Action Plan for Wild Crop Relatives for Karacadağ Steppes was prepared by ANÇEO within the scope of “Conservation and Sustainable Management of Turkey’s Steppe Ecosystems” Project carried out in cooperation with United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, General Directorate of Plant Production and General Directorate of Forestry and with the financial support of the Global Environment Facility. The timeframe of the policy is 10 years between 2021 and 2030. The overall goal of this policy is to ensure the protection of plant biodiversity and thus sustainable food security through a multi species conservation approach and in situ conservation planning for the Karacadağ Steppes. This policy lays down the general information of the target species, including their taxonomy, phenology, ecology, spatial distribution, life cycle, habitat preferences and the major threats along with their global and local conservation status. A multi species approach will be integrated into the conservation planning of target species and their wild relatives in Karacadağ Steppes.
