Notification on environmental objectives for surface water bodies.

This Notification lays down the procedures and principles for environmental objectives for all surface water bodies, including coastal and transitional waters, to reach good ecological and chemical status. Basic principles are determined as (I) increase the quality of surface water bodies, (II) take measures for the protection of surface water bodies, and (III) set environmental objectives for each surface water body according to their usage and conservation status. This Notification sets forth provisions on the assessment of ecological status and potential and chemical status, the evaluation of final outcomes, and environmental quality objectives.
