Abstract
This Notification aims at determining the presence of vinyl chloride monomer and possible migration from materials and articles produced by using polymers of vinyl chloride and copolymer. The Notification further specifies maximum permissible level for vinyl chloride in food. The notification consist 11 articles and an annex. The Notification is prepared in accordance with the European Council Directive 78/142/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to materials and articles which contain vinyl chloride monomer and are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.
