Abstract
This Notification aims to regulate pure-bred sheep and goat breeding, sheep and goat semen, ova and embryo production and their trade. The Notification further sets forth the principles and procedures of geneogram registration, methods of monitoring performance of breeding sheep and goats and lays down the principles of certification and registration of semen, ova and embryo at each step of their production. This Notification is prepared in accordance with European Council Directive 89/361/EEC of 30 May 1989 concerning pure-bred breeding sheep and goats, Commission Decision of 10 May 1990 laying down the criteria governing entry in flock-books for pure-bred breeding sheep and goats, Commission Decision of 10 May 1990 laying down methods for monitoring performance and assessing the genetic value of pure-bred breeding sheep and goats
