Presidential Circular No. 2024/4 on zero waste.

This Circular addresses the Zero Waste Project which aims to: (I) support resource and waste management based on a circular economy, sustainable production and consumption habits and efficient use of resources; (II) prevent, reduce and encourage reuse and recycling of waste; and (III) improve social solidarity. In the scope of coping with climate change and sustainable development, zero waste practices and zero waste initiatives will be promoted at the local and national levels. This Circular emphasizes the importance of implementing a zero waste management system in buildings, campuses, and local administrations in accordance with the Environment Law No. 2872 and the Zero Waste Regulation, as well as other relevant environmental laws and regulations. It also provides for administrative sanctions for those who refrain from fulfilling their obligations concerning the establishment or implementation of zero waste management system in accordance with the relevant legislation.
