Abstract
This Protocol sets out a framework for co-operation in the field of agriculture. The contracting parties agree to cooperate in areas, such as plant protection, plant production, livestock, animal health, food industry, rural development and irrigation. The parties will exchange scientific and technical information and documents, plants, animals, genetic and biological materials and will encourage direct joint ventures of co-operation between the private sectors of both sides. The parties further agree to organize joint seminars and conferences and to establish a committee to govern the implementation of the activities of co-operation. The committee will be composed of the representatives of both sides and will set up meetings in both countries in a regular basis. The Protocol is for a period of five years with termination rights requiring six months written notice. It may be renewed by the mutual consent of both contracting parties.
