Abstract
This Regulation sets forth rules for controlling and eradicating brucellosis. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs prepares programmes for eradicating brucellosis, which is classified as a notifiable disease. Treatment against the disease is prohibited. Vaccination against brucellosis is allowed only under official supervision. Infected animals must be isolated, marked accordingly and slaughtered. Meats of slaughtered animals are treated in accordance with regulations in force. A thorough and detailed cleaning and disinfection procedure shall be applied to locations where infection occurred, before accepting new animals to the site. Rules and methods on disnfection are given. Conditions for classifying herds as disease-free herds are laid down as well. Procedures for bovine and goat-sheep are detailed separately in the Regulation.
