Regulation on the management of radiation emergencies.

This Regulation outlines the principles and procedures regarding the on-site management of radiation emergencies that may occur during the conduct of activities related to nuclear energy and ionizing radiation which are subject to regulatory control, and the duties and responsibilities of authorized persons in handling such emergencies. The main purpose of this Regulation is to protect employees, the public, the environment and future generations. It lays down provisions on the management system of radiation emergencies, categories of radiation emergency preparedness, classification of radiation emergencies, organization of emergency response, radiation emergency planning, training and drill, decision support systems, response measures, communication in the event of an emergency, monitoring of the parameters of the facility and the field, records and reports relating to radiation emergency, and inspection and administrative sanctions. The reliability of the results obtained from decision support systems shall be tested in emergency drills for possible incident or accident scenarios that may cause release to the environment.
