Abstract
This Regulation sets out the procedures and principles regarding the detection, combat, eradication and prevention of the spread of Clavibacter sepedonicus which is the causal agent of potato ring rot. This Regulation lays down provisions on the annual surveys for the presence of the specified pest on the specified plants and requirements as regards tubers other than those for planting, tubers for planting and tubers intended to be planted in their place of production; measures in case of suspicion or confirmation of the presence of the specified pest; measures for eradicating the specified pest; specific testing measures for tubers for planting; temporary measures concerning movements of tubers of specified plants originating in a highly infected area; and administrative sanctions in accordance with the Article 38 of the Law No. 5996 on veterinary services, plant health, food and feed. This Regulation has been drafted in line with the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1194 establishing measures to eradicate and prevent the spread of Clavibacter sepedonicus.
