Abstract
This Regulation sets forth the minimum standards for the protection of calves confined for rearing and fattening. The aim of this Regulation is to ensure the welfare of calves and also to prevent injury and suffering. This Regulation is drafted in accordance with Council Directive 2008/119/EC laying down minimum standards for the protection of calves.
