Sectoral Policy on seeds 2018-2022.

This Sectoral Policy is a national policy with a sectoral approach. The timeframe of this Sectoral Policy is 5 years between 2018 and 2022. This Policy lays down strategies for the development of the seed sector, including registration of varieties and genetic resources of field crops, vineyard-garden plants, forest plant species and other plant species, and certification, trade, and market control of seeds and planting materials. The overall purposes of this Policy are the reduction on the dependency for export by increasing domestic certified seed production; food security; development, registration and licensing of new varieties; and institutional capacity building.
