Abstract
This Notification sets out the procedures and principles for the production, preparation, processing, transportation, storage and putting on the market of sugar with the right technique and hygienic requirements. This Notification applies to semi-white sugar, white sugar, extra white sugar, sugar solution, invert sugar solution, invert sugar syrup, glucose syrup, dried glucose syrup, dextrose or dextrose monohydrate, dextrose or dextrose anhydrous, fructose and powdered sugar.
This Notification lays down provisions on food additives; pesticide residues; hygiene; packaging and labeling; transport and storage; sampling and analysis methods; and administrative sanctions. This Notification is drafted in line with the Council Directive 2001/111/EC of 20 December 2001 relating to certain sugars intended for human consumption.
