Abstract
This Regulation sets forth the rules and procedures of preparation, processing, packaging, labeling, conservation, storage, transportation and sales of coffee and coffee extracts in compliance with hygiene requirements. This Regulation covers green coffee bean, decaffeinated green coffee bean, roasted coffee bean, ground coffee, coffee extracts, instant coffee and instant coffee extracts. This Regulation sets forth provisions on product specifications, food additives, flavourings, food ingredients with flavouring properties, contaminants, pesticide residue, hygiene requirements, packaging, labeling, storage, transport, sampling and testing. This Regulation has been drafted in accordance with the Council Directive 1999/4/EC relating to coffee extracts and chicory extracts.
