Abstract
This Act provides for the regulation of the growing and placing on the market of cashewnuts and establishes the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania as a body corporate.
The Board shall, among other things, advise the Government on the policies and strategies for the development of cashewnut industry; regulate and control the quality of cashewnuts, kernels and cashewnuts by-products; and implement Regulations in respect of farming, marketing, processing, transporting and storage of cashew nuts. The Act, furthermore, among other things, provides for the registration of cashewnut growers and dealers with the Board and for the licensing of cashewnut buyer, seller, processor, exporter, importer, warehouse owner or operator and provides rules relative to contract farming by registered farmers.
