Abstract
These Regulations amend comma (1) of regulation 16 of the Food Hygiene Regulations, regulations 7 and 9 of the Food Importation Regulations, Regulation 9 of the Food Labelling Regulations, regulation 21 of The Poultry Slaughterhouses, Slaughtering and Inspection of Poultry Meat Regulations, and regulation 9 of The Transport of Meat Regulations in relation with the raising of the amount of fines. The Food (Control of Quality) (Importation of Food) Regulations, 1982 are amended so as to prohibit entry of food which is found upon inspection to be unfit for human consumption at entry ports. Such food shall be returned to the country of export at the expense of the importer.
