Food (Control of Quality)(Slaughterhouses, Slaughtering and Inspection of Meat) Regulations, 1993 (G.N. No. 86 of 1994).

No abbatoir shall be used unless constructed and approved in accordance with requirements set out in the Fifth Schedule (reg. 3[1]). Facilities to be provided by the occupier of an abattoir are listed in regulation 3[2]. Regulation 7 provides for a antemortem and postmortem inspection of slaughter animals in accordance with rules set out in Part I and II of the Third Schedule.
