Abstract
These Orders make provision for the marking of forest produce by authorities and by persons who wish to remove trees, for the transit of forest produce and certificates of registration of forest produce and trade. Senior forest officers shall be provided with a distinctive personal hammer mark (sect. 3). Trees and poles shall be marked with a distinctive mark for the identification of such trees and poles (sect. 4). No timber or other forest produce shall be removed from any forest area or woodlot without a transit pass in the form prescribed in the Third Schedule to these Orders.
The removal of trees for which a transit pass is required, shall not take place unless the trees are marked with a personal property hammer mark which enables to establish the ownership of such trees (sect. 6). All persons who are involved in the forest industry, the timber processing industry or the trade in trees timber, logs or poles, firewood or charcoal shall obtain a registration certificate from the Regional Forest Officer (sect. 7).
