Mining (Local Content) (Amendment) Regulations, 2022 (GN No. 479 of 2022).

These Regulations consisting of 11 articles amend the original Regulations by (i) revising definitions for contractor, mining activities, and subcontractors; (ii) updating committee composition; (iii) requiring joint ventures with Tanzanian companies. They also introduce conditions for sole-sourcing contracts, mandate quarterly performance reports in a specified format, shift certain responsibilities from the Commission to the Ministry, and impose penalties for non-compliance with local content requirements, including contract cancellations and fines. Finally, a new Schedule is added concerning the performance report of the companies.
