Abstract
These Rules (made under section 259-1 of the national Petroleum Act) shall apply to the regulation of activities regarding the petroleum waste oils recycling operations and related matters in Mainland Tanzania. The text is divided into nine thematic Chapters, as follows: I. Preliminary provisions; II. Application for a construction approval; III. Licensing procedures; IV. General obligations of a licensee; V. Environmental protection; VI. Technical provisions; VII. Compliance and enforcement; VIII. Penalties and remedial measures; IX. General provisions. Topics here covered are including issues aimed at protection of lives and property, maintenance of records and disclosure of information, compliance with environmental laws and standards, sanctions for violation of environmental laws among other related penalties (see full list in the Annex which contains specific administrative forms and sums for different types of violations), risks management plan, fire precaution, and necessary inspections.
