Abstract
The Regulations contain provisions on the procedures for applications for water rights, appeals made under section 32 of the Water utilization (Control and Regulation) Act, 1974, and provide for the various matters respecting the Central Water Board and the Basin Water Board. Regulation 3 provides for the application for the abstraction or use of groundwater. Regulation 4 foresees in the possibility of a person holding a water right to apply for the granting for the creation of an easement by the Water officer where that person has failed to obtain such easement by agreement with the owner or occupier of the land. Provisions of Part III concern reference of application for water rights to the Water Boards as established under the Act (sects. 10 and 11). The Chairman of the Central Water Board shall be nominated by the President Members of the Board shall be drawn from public, private, NGO and women organizations (sect. 12). The remaining sections (sects. 13-22) of Part III concern internal matters of the Boards. Part V (sects. 23-26) sets out in detail procedures of appeal under section 32 of the Act. The last Part (sects. 27-31) deals with miscellaneous matters including offences. (32 regulations)
