Abstract
The Act (39 sections) creates a system of water rights, administered by Water Officers and the Principal Water Officer, who acts on the advice of the Central Water Advisory Board. The Act contains preliminary provisions (Part I), provisions on appointment of officers and establishment of Water Advisory Boards (Part II), ownership of and inherent rights to the use of water (Part III), grant of water rights (Part IV), revision, variation, determination and dimunition of water rights (Part V), miscellaneous powers (Part VI), appeals (Part VII), offences (Part VIII) and miscellaneous provisions (Part IX).
