Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 14 articles, aim to clarify definitions, streamline processes, and ensure responsible management of hunting activities. The main amendments include (i) updating the definition of "trophy hunting" to include various animal parts, and removing the restriction on exporting meat in the definition of "tourist hunting"; (ii) introducing a new sub-regulation allowing the Minister to advertise new hunting blocks during a particular tenure of ownership; (iii) adding a surcharge of 10% for late payment of seasonal block fees; (iv) establishing procedures for hunting companies to surrender hunting blocks, including notice requirements and payment of outstanding fees; (v) introducing the Intercompany Hunting and conditions under which it can be conducted; (vi) payment of observer fees for people accompanying tourist hunters for the days spent in the hunting safari; (vii) updating the process for obtaining and renewing professional hunter certificates and licenses, including examination requirements and validity periods.
