Abstract
This Act amends, amongst others, the Non-Governmental Organizations Act (Cap. 56). This Act is amended by: redefining the term "Non-Governmental Organization"; adding a new provision (41A) on the power of the Registrar to investigate the operations of a NGO; adding a new section (8A) on de-registration of an NGO; and amending some provisions concerning suspension of NGOs and the duty of NGOs to abide by the law of Tanzania. Co-operatives and agricultural societies shall not be considered NGOs.
