Abstract
Amendment to the Law No. 2456-XII on natural reserves establishes that on the territory of natural reserves shall be prohibited the following activities: hunting, fishing, forestry works, felling of hollow trees, all types of excursions, except for pedestrian, biotechnical measures, hay-making by means of mechanized means, tourism, introduction of new species of animals and plants, performance of measures aimed at increasing the number of certain species of animals beyond the permissible scientifically substantiated capacity of the land, collection of natural materials, except for materials necessary for scientific research. Article 63 of the Law No. 2894-III of 2001 on wildlife shall be amended to add the following wording: “Enterprises, institutions, organizations and citizens are obliged to compensate for damage, caused by them as a result of violations of legislation in the field of protection, use and reproduction of the wildlife. The amount of compensation for the illegal hunting, destruction or damage of wild fauna species, as well as the destruction or deterioration of their natural habitats shall be established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine”.
