Ministerial Decree No. 1126 validating the Regulation on the modalities of carrying out artisanal and sport fishing.

Artisanal and sport fishing for proper consumption is permitted to all the Ukrainian nationals, foreign nationals and stateless persons in all water bodies of the Ukraine except for water bodies pertaining to protected areas, fish farming enterprises, artificial water reservoirs and areas thereof where fisheries are prohibited. Artisanal and sport fishing in the water bodies of general use shall be carried out free of charge and without any special authorization. Artisanal and sport fishing in the water bodies of special management or separate areas thereof, in the areas of concentration of the aquatic living resources shall be carried out on charged basis in conformity with special authorization in accordance with fisheries regulations and quotas of catch. The term aquatic living resources comprise freshwater fishes, marine fishes, marine mammals, marine invertebrates, molluscs, crustaceans, aquatic plants. Water bodies (areas thereof) and fishing requirements for artisanal and sport fishing shall be set the fishing inspection on the grounds of scientifically and biologically substantiated data. Underwater hunting shall be carried out in the water bodies destined for artisanal and sport fishing without aqualung or any other autonomous respiratory device.
