Abstract
The amendment to the National Planning Authority Act, 2002 (Act 15 of 2002), aims to expand the functions of the National Planning Authority by incorporating responsibilities previously held by the National Population Council and the National Physical Planning Board. Specifically, the amendment adds a range of population-related functions, including advocacy, integration of population factors in development planning, policy implementation and review, demographic analysis, capacity building, resource mobilization, research, publication, strategic partnerships, and monitoring and evaluation, all aligned with the National Development Plan.
