Abstract
These Regulations, made under section 31 of the Uganda Tea Growers Corporation Act, impose a levy in respect of every kilogramme of green leaf sold by a grower in Scheduled areas, i.e. areas set out in the Second Schedule to the Act. The levy shall be paid to the Uganda Tea Growers Corporation. An additional levy shall be paid in the case of a tea grower to whom a loan has been granted by the Corporation. This levy shall remain in place until he or she repays the full amount of the loan to the Corporation. The levy shall be paid when the tea grower’s green tea leaf is accepted at a processing factory, but the Corporation shall deduct from any payment due to the tea grower.
