50 CFR § 10.1 - 10.22 - Taking, Possession, transportation, Sale, Purchase, Barter, Exportation, and Importation of Wildlife and Plants - General provisions.

This Part of Title 50 lays down regulations relating to the taking, possession, transportation, sale, purchase, barter, exportation, and importation of wildlife, for the implementation of the following statutes enforced by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: Lacey Act, Lacey Act Amendments of 1981, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, Endangered Species Act of 1973, Tariff Classification Act of 1962, Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956, and Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972.
This Part sets out the list of migratory birds with the aim of informing the public of the species protected by regulations that enforce the terms of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. The Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service shall be responsible for the matters regarding permits for the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Fauna (CITES), injurious wildlife, Wild Bird Conservation Act species, international movement of all Endangered Species Act-listed endangered or threatened species, and scientific research on, exhibition of, or interstate commerce in non-native Endangered Species Act-listed endangered and threatened species.
