Abstract
This Ordinance makes provision for the protection of birds, birds eggs, fish, turtles, lobsters and oysters. Offences against birds are specified in section 2. There shall be a close season for each of the birds listed in the Second Schedule, and for oysters and lobsters. The Governor-in-Council may vary the Schedules and close seasons. Killing of birds during the close season shall be an offence. Any person who shall take, or destroy, any turtle, or turtle eggs, on land, or shall have in his possession any such turtle or egg shall commit an offence. Other provisions concern seizure and forfeiture of birds, killing for scientific purpose. The Governor-in-Council may by Proclamation declare any area a sanctuary for the birds listed in the Second Schedule. Section 17 concerns the protection of lobsters, whereas section 18 prescribes a close season for lobsters.
