Abstract
This Act, divided into five Parts and consisting of 20 sections, provides for protecting the Geographical Indications, identifying the goods within the country. According to the Act, good is defined as any natural or agricultural product or any product of handcraft or industry. The Act concerns: requirements for ensuring the protection of Geographical Indications, including: homonymous geographical indications for wines, indications excluded from protection; frauds and related offences; civil remedies; application for registration; right of use; cancellation and rectification of registration; competence of Court; special provisions concerning trade marks; marks conflicting with a geographical indication for wines and spirits; exceptions regarding prior users.
