Abstract
This Decision establishes to assign the task of "controlling the import, temporary import, re-export, temporary export, re-import, border-gate transfer and transit through the Vietnamese territory of fisheries and fisheries products originated from illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing practices" set out in Article 70 of Decree 26/2019/ND-CP as follows: 1. For the Directorate of Fisheries: a) Lead and cooperate with the Department of Animal Health for the list of seaports for vessels transporting fisheries products and aquatic products originating from fishing operations in foreign countries landing at ports to carry out the mentioned activities of trade and notify the list of designated ports to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO). b) Submit to the Ministry the process of controlling over the origin of fishery products from foreign fishing vessels arriving at ports. c) Directly coordinate with the Department of Animal Health in the process of receiving information from vessels transporting aquatic products and fisheries products originating from registered port; verify; inspect, allow or refuse vessels to dock. For the Department of Animal Health: a) Provide Directorate of Fisheries with a list of seaports, quantity, types and origin of products for which the Department is conducting quarantine and food safety inspection of aquatic products.
