Decree No. 37/2024/ND-CP on on amendments to some Articles of the Government's Decree No. 26/2019/ND-CP dated March 08, 2019 on guidelines for implementation of the Law on Fisheries.

This Decree No. 37/2024/ND-CP amends Decree No. 26/2019/ND-CP to enhance fisheries management. It introduces new definitions, strengthens protection of endangered aquatic species, and regulates marine protected areas (MPAs), aquaculture licensing, and vessel monitoring systems. It also outlines responsibilities for supervisors on fishing vessels and sets stricter rules for foreign fishing operations and port inspections to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
The Decree updates procedures for aquafeed production, fishing vessel registration, and training institutions. It mandates traceability of fishery products, designates fishing ports for foreign vessels, and enforces data security and inspection protocols.
