Directive 28/CT-TTg - Directive Urgent Solutions for Preventing and Fighting the Violation of Wild Animals Against the Law.

To effectively prevent and fight organized crime related to the trade in ivory, rhino horn and endangered, precious and rare wildlife products, the Prime Minister requests ministries, branches and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to continue strictly implementing Directive No. 03/CT-TTg, especially focusing on a number of key measures such as: The People's Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities shall direct agencies and units in their localities to review, examine and strictly handle illegal ivory and rhino horn trading activities. the law; focus on inspecting craft villages, processing facilities, souvenir shops at tourist sites, airports, piers, trading establishments, apothecaries of traditional medicine, ... and publicize the processing results on the mass media. In case of violations, heads of party committees and local governments at all levels must be responsible before the Prime Minister for the occurrence of violations in the areas under their management. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development directs the CITES Management Authority to advise the Inter- sectoral Steering Committee on wildlife trade control to strengthen cooperation in information sharing, investigate, arrest and handle acts of infringing upon endangered, precious and rare wildlife species, especially ivory and rhino horn.
