Abstract
This Law provides for Viet Nam’s baseline, internal waters, territorial sea, contiguous zone, EEZ, continental shelf, islands the Paracel and Spratly archipelagos and other archipelagos in accordance with the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
The Law provides for operations in maritime zones of Viet Nam, which must be conducted by organizations and individuals in respect of Viet Nam’s sovereignty, sovereign rights, jurisdiction and national interests.
The Law further provides for: the development of maritime economic industries meeting, among other things, the requirements of management of marine natural resources and protection of the environment; sea patrol and surveillance; handling of violations; etc.
