Abstract
This Act makes provision for the constitution, registration and functioning of cooperative societies, their duties and Privileges, matters regarding shares of members, amalgamation or transfer of societies, divisions of societies, qualification and Rights of Members, Property and Funds of Registered Societies, Annual Returns, Audit and Inquiry, Dissolution and cancellation of a Registered Society, and the determination of disputes between members, members and society or organs of a society. Subject to this Act any society for carrying on any industry, business or trade in accordance with cooperative principles may be registered under this Act. The Minister may appoint a person to be Registrar of Cooperative Societies under section 2. A registered society which has as one of its objects the disposal of any article produced or obtained by the work or industry of its members, whether the produce of agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry, fisheries, handicrafts or otherwise, may provide in its by-laws or may otherwise contract with its members: (a) that every member who produces any such article dispose of the whole or any specified amount, proportion or description thereof to or through the society (sect. 13).
