Republican Resolution on Law No. 42 of 1991 regulating fishing and the exploitation of aquatic animals as well as their protection.

This Law consists of 8 Chapters divided into 32 articles. Terms and definitions (I); Regulating fishing (II); Aquaculture and mariculture (III); Marketing and processing of aquatic animals (IV); Protection of aquatic animals (V); Fishing gear and methods (VI); Penalties (VII); Final provisions (VIII). Fishing in the Territorial Waters without a licence shall be prohibited (art. 4). The Minister of Fish Resources may issue a special licence to carry out research in fish field (art. 5). The Minister of Fish Resources may declare any zone of the Territorial Waters to be a non fishing zone (art. 6). The Minister of Fish Resources shall define fishing zones and fishing seasons (art. 7).
