Abstract
This Act provides for amending provisions of the Wine and Spirits Control Act, no. 47 of 1970. Section 1 of the main Act is amended by replacing words and definitions concerning absolute alcohol; by replacing the definition of cooperative society; by the introduction of definition of group of interests. Section 2 is amended by extending powers of management authority. Section 8 is replaced by a new one concerning appeal on question of alleged unfair dealing or unjust treatment. Section 51 is amended by replacing provisions concerning financial aids the management authority may dispose of, in order to promote research, develop and transfer technology, improve the general competitive advantage in respect of varieties of vines and the production of wine. Section 56A is amended by replacing the meaning of restriction of liability. Further sections added concern: transitional measures, adding of a schedule with detailed powers and functions of the management authority.

An Act to amend the Wine and Spirit Control Act of 1970, so as to insert and to delete certain definitions; to authorise the utilisation of the research levy for additional purposes; to provide for the control and management of the wine and spirit industry during a transitional phase; to establish a management authority; to authorise the designation of assignees to enforce and administer that Act or certain provisions thereof; to make certain textual alterations; and to provide for the lapsing of that Act at the end of the transitional phase; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
