Amendments to the Regulations and notices regarding Extended Producer Responsibility, 2020

Makes EPR mandatory for all producers and importers of packaging. The following are required for producers: (i) Existing producers to register with the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (ii) Join or form an EPR scheme that includes the entire value chain and be accountable for the operation and performance of an EPR scheme; (iii) Pay the appropriate fees to the EPR scheme; (iv) Fulfil monitoring and reporting obligations.
